Vampire Facial, Vampire Facelift and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) Facial are all the same and include blood.
You have probably seen the video of Kim K getting one done and acting like she’s dying.
Well I just had one this week and l’ll tell you all about my experience.
A little Science for you first, PRP became popular 10-15 years ago for use in musculoskeletal disorders because of it’s healing effects and cell growth turnover.
Some professional athletes have benefited from this and now your face can too.
Okay onto the facial process.
First thing they do is draw your blood from your arm. I had 4 tubes drawn to be exact. I was thinking yikes that’s a lot of blood, but it really isn’t.
Next your blood is spun in a centrifuge machine to separate the blood from the part of the blood that plasma and concentrated in platelets (PRP).
The PRP is put into tubes and all the while your face is getting numbed. I highly recommend the numbing cream.
The esthetician will wipe off the numbing cream and start the process of the facial.
The microneedling or skin pen is done all over your face and puts tiny micro holes all over your face. The PRP is put all over your face and seeps into the tiny holes causing the skin to regenerate.
Think of it as a high potent serum seeping into your skin causing your skin to look and feel brand new. Shiny Plastic Barbie umm yes please.
Does it hurt you ask?
Well a little bit but nothing to do with blood or vampires lol. The microneedling hurts a little bit but not that bad.
Like I said I strongly recommend numbing cream because I have done microneedling without numbing cream and I about came off the table.
For the recovery my face was red and swollen for about 2 days and hurt a little bit.
This procedure says no downtime but if you work in the office I would dip out early on a Friday and come back looking amazing Monday.
I have done this facial twice and the results I saw were really good! My skin texture was much smoother and wrinkles under my eyes aren’t as noticeable.
I love this facial but I don’t want you to think this is the end all be all because NOTHING and I mean NOTHING will give you same results as botox and fillers. Well with the exception of a facelift but you know what I mean.
All in all it does tighten your face, diminish fine lines and wrinkles and gives you smoother skin.
