Let’s talk about the truth of blogging and behind the scenes.
I have only been blogging for 8 months on and off but I will let you in on what I have learned.
It is a TON of work and I don’t think most people realize it. Bloggers don’t get the credit they deserve because it is a constant state of hustle and creativity.
I think most people hear blogger and they think you dress up and take photos all day. Blogging is so much more than that.
In blogging I really have taken the time to research different topics and always want to post something of value rather than just an outfit to get likes. I want people to read my words and feel inspired or learn something they didn’t know.

I have learned that people really admire realness. I have talked about a few personal topics and I have had so many people reach out to say thank you. The realness factor isn’t for everyone though.
I am not a fashion blogger who just takes pictures in outfits and tells you where to go buy them. I am more than that, I want to be an open book of my lifestyle.
Let’s be honest here people get bored with perfect. Posting the perfect picture with the perfect caption, perfect hashtags, posting at a particular time to get the most interaction, and making sure your photo is the same color scheme is a lot and that’s just the tip of the iceberg of blogging.
Don’t get me wrong I love Instagram and love blogging but just want to dive a little deeper into it all.
Have you ever thought what if Instagram just shut down and never came back or a new platform arises and is more popular? Think about MySpace and how big that was and then Facebook was born and everyone jumped ship.
It is actually kind of scary that you may have to start completely over from square 1 but I think it’s also exciting and makes you want to be more than just good photos.
I have learned to time manage photo shoots and make my visions become a photo. I typically shoot for 2 hours and do 5 or 6 outfits spending the same amount of time on each one.

I use a photographer about 50% of the time. I have a Canon camera I use with a tripod or have my husband take the photos too.
The photos aren’t glamorous behind the scenes. I have done a couple when it is baking hot outside and I have to change in my car into the next outfit. I am sweating balls and am like why am I doing this?!!! The reason I do though is because I really love it and love the hustle of it all.
If you are doing your photos with a tripod you have to use the timer and run in front of it hoping you get one good photo or do it again and again.
The perfectly polished photos are for entertainment you have to remember that. Some of my photos are for pure entertainment, for example I don’t really get all done up every single day. I am in workout clothes 90% of the time.
Blogging is all about your creativity and what you want to tell the world.
Growing in social media is the one question people want to know how to do and do it fast. There is no way to grow fast or get to the top fast. Everything worth while you have put in a lot of hard work, time and dedication.
Ask any big time blogger how long they have been doing this for and I guarantee it is at least 5 years, at least.
Blogging isn’t something you just decide to do one day and expect to get a ton of brand deals and collaborations right off the bat. You have to put in all the hard work.
Like I said I have only been doing this for 8 months off an on and have seen myself grow but not instantly.
If you want to start a blog then do it. Don’t wait until you have the perfect pictures or layout because if you do you may never do it.
No one and I mean no ones blog started out being astronomically off the charts amazing.
Very happy with the time and effort you put into this article, it’s a great read!
Thank you so much and I am so glad you enjoyed it! =)
